In our daily life, human communicates  through their own language. Language can express one feeling, desire and intention. Throughout the world, English is the most spoken language.

But how do cat communicates? Can we human understand what cats want? Below are simple examples on cat language or vocal calls.

1. Purring- is a sign of contentment or for some cats, when it purr means it try to calm themselves down from pain. Purring also can be sign of pleasure.

2. Greeting-Low meow or chirp produced simultaneous with purring.

3. Distress- Often pleads by kittens to attract attention or help. Distress can be produce either in loud and frantic manner, or more high pitched.

4. Attention-A simple meow produce by either younger kittens or older cats. To attract its owner for food (example), it may produce more commanding meow.

Other than stated above, cats can also use its vocal calls as to its protest frustration or even when it happy. So, get familiar with your cat vocal calls by understanding what does every meow means.

Cat behaviour

It is very entertaining when watching your cat playing around you. However, cat owner should know certain cat behavior. Cat behavior can be described through its body language and communication (since the cat cannot talk to human).

Cats rely mainly on its body language for communications or show its interest. For example as below:

1. Disgust-Showing cat displeasure/comforted of a certain situation by rapidly shaking its paws. For example, after its accidentally stepping into water.

2. Aggression-indicated when the tail is sweeping or swishing, either in mid-air or against a person.  If the cat felt annoyed, it may caused the cat to leave or even start a physical aggression.

3. Kneading-We can observed this behavior when a kitten knead its mother’s nipple to stimulate the milk flows. Some cat may knead(with its paws)onto a person or even its owner shirts. For human point of view, it may shows the cat discomfort or uncomfortable. However, most likely it shows that the cat is happy.

4. Relaxing-Showed by rolling on the side or back or even rolling about. Cat show this behavior when a person (especially its master/owner) walk into the room. This show that cat is in complete relaxations.

Those are few behavior that can we observed. There are many others like its affection, its submission or even how the cats show its interest or its rejection.

By knowing the cat behavior, human can communicate and have better understanding on what their cat mean in above mentioned movement.

An introduction to cat

www.sxc.hu

Felis catus is their scientific name. In our normal life, it called cat and can be known either as the domestic cat or housecat. Cats can be distinguished from its other felines and felids family. These domestic cats are more likely adopted by humans for its companionship and its ability to hunt for household pests.

Cats have been a long side of humans for a long time. Some says cats have been associated with human since the end of the Stone Age. There were also prove that cat were founded mummified alongside its owner.

Nevertheless, it is a very delightful to have a cat alongside you at home. In this blog, I will try to explain and elaborates more about cat.
